The operation principle of the liquid level sensor is described, a theoretical model of the sensitivity has been developed on the basis of statics, and an expression of the maximum sensitivity has been given, the corresponding theoretical analysis has also been carried out. The theoretical result shows that the maximum sensitivity is as great as 10.14-pm/mm, that is, one millimeter change of liquid level height will result in a Bragg reflecting wavelength shift by 10.14 pico-meter. The experimental result of the sensitivity was 6.39-pm/mm, which is basically in accordance with the theoretical prediction (less than 10.14-pm/mm).
