GT13E2 COMBUSTION OPTIMIZATION PACKAGE OPERATION EXPERIENCE

Alstom has developed a combustion optimization package for GT13E2 gas turbines that have been in operation for many years. This package consists of three elements:rn1. TBC coated combustor primary zonern2. Homogenisation of the burner flame temperaturesrn3. Advanced pulsation control logic (A-PCL)rnThe combustion optimization package is installed during the major maintenance outage and it does not interfere with the standard outage activities and schedule. It ensures an improved combustion that results in:rn4. Up to 50% NO_x emission reductionrn5. Gas turbine availability & reliability increasern6. Reduced thermal stresses on hot gas path parts (HGPP)rnThe combustion optimization package has already been implemented in several machines. The results confirmed the expectations.
