After having successfully introduced the axial divided seal ring holder design, this articlerndescribes a new step change in generator hydrogen seal technology. Conventional generatorrnhydrogen seal systems have not been able to eliminate three main issues in the past: Seal Rubrndamage, Oil Ingress into the generator and low hydrogen purities. The new seal design usesrnproven aerospace technology and has been successfully applied to 7 units in the US and Europe.
