Nanoscale Mechanical Behaviour of PM Al-Matrix Composites

摘要

The paper presents the experimental results regarding the Al-matrix composites discontinuously reinforced by SiC and graphite. The composite material is processed from mechanically alloyed composite powder particles and then by the classic PM route: cold compaction and sintering. The nanoindentation test is performed on the samples at environmental temperature. These analyses are developed in order to predict the mechanical behavior of the tested composites as bearings during the dry friction functioning. The experimental results are compared with the obtained ones by ANSYS program.
