The rheological characteristics of the feedstocks composed of steatite powder with polyethylene glycol (PEG) based binders have been investigated. The constituents of the binders were PEG 3000, PEG 8000, HDPE, PP, and stearic acid. The critical solid loading of the steatite powder was determined as 53%. The optimal processing temperatures of 190℃ for the PP-based binders, and 170℃ for HDPE-based binders were determined. Viscosities of feedstocks were shear rate dependent with pseudo-plastic behaviour. The viscosity of the PEG based binders with HDPE content at 170℃ ranges between 100-250 Pa.s, while the viscosity of the feedstocks containing PP changes between 175-300 Pa.s. Volumetric flow ratio at 1.360 MPa pressure is about 1500 g/10 min for feedstocks with HDPE while the ones with PP is about 250 g/10 min. The moulded parts produced from optimal feedstocks have been completely debinded by keeping in water bath for 24 h at room temperature.
