Optimizing filling procedures for uniaxial compaction on hydraulic single-stand presses and mechanical rotary presses. Whenever powder is to be compacted, repetition-accurate filling plays a crucial role in stabilising the process. In order to statisfy the ever narrower tolerance specifications, filling procedures have to undergo ongoing further optimization. Fette GmbH is examining different optimization possibilities, both for the fairly time-consuming filling procedure in the unaxial press, and for the extremely short filling procedure in rotary presses. Attention is being paid on the one hand to various possibilities of applying kinetic energy to the loose powder of granules, for example by specific vibration of the lower punch. On the other hand, another possibility is the scraping effect when filling with filling shoes, allowing for a frely programmable transverse movement of the filling shoe.
