Polyurethane Raw Material Frothing Process and Acceptable Blowing Agents

Products composed of polyurethane materials are extensively used in the manufacturing of elements for automotive components, comfort products, building insulation and refrigerated appliances and are manufactured to provide a wide range of material properties and physical appearances. This paper will look at the foaming process, beginning with the mixing the individual components and formation of foam for the various end-user applications. It will then examine nucleation of the components and cell formulation and structure. Finally, it will assess various approved and available blowing agents and the methods of introducing them into the individual polyurethane systems.
