摘要

This paper compares the following channel representations:the time-variant channel impulse response(CIR),the tapped delay-line(TDL)channel representation and the equivalent discrete-time (EDT)channel model,in modeling direct-sequence code division multiple access(DS/CDMA)systems communicating over fading dispersive channels.It is shown that the TDL and EDT channel models provide approximately the same degree of simplicity.However,the TDL channel representation is subject to a number of rigid assumptions which limit its area of applications while the EDT channel model does not rely on these assumptions.It is concluded that the EDT channel model is the most appropriate one among the three channel representations considered.
