A transverse flux generator with a large number of poles was developed for a wind turbine with anrnH-Darrieus-rotor.rnTo avoid mechanical interfering between rotary encoder and rotor blade mounting, magneto-resistivernposition sensors have been integrated. The position of the rotor is determined by analyzing thernmagnetic field generated by the existing permanent magnets mounted on the rotor. The position andrnorientation of the sensor have been chosen in a way to ensure that the stator current has no influencernon the rotor position detection.rnThis paper discusses the mode of action, optimal alignment and the measurement results of thernsensor.
