From the temperature dependence of polymerization of 10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid (PCDA) monolayer under UV-irradiation the apparent activation energy E_a were estimated according to Arrhenius relationship and to be 60 - 90 kJ/mol depending on the surface pressure at which the polymerization was carried out. The apparent activation energy was found to have a minimum of 63.5 kJ/mol at the surface pressure of 20 mN/m, and an obvious increase of the E_a would be observed when deviating from this surface pressrue.
