Two- and three-dimensional polymer directional coupler for high-density optical interconnects at 1550 nm

We demonstrate two- and three-dimensional single-mode polymer directional coupler directly inscribed using a micro-dispenser. We successfully fabricated two-core couplers with splitting ratios of 0.95 and 0.52 and three-dimensional couplers operating at 1550 nm.
