摘要

This paper proposes a segmented network architecture that is very effective in constructing a large scale network that uses transparent OXCs, and clarifies the network design criteria. Network costs with different network design scenarios are investigated. In particular, IP plus optical layer networks with multi-layer traffic engineering and one plus one optical path protection are examined. Numerical experiments show the effects of the segment size on the network cost and that the proposed designs are effective in designing large-scale networks.
