Silica-on-silicon devices can be mass-produced and non-hermetically packaged,rnpromising the low cost needed for high-functionality optical control devices. We cover both interchannelrncontrol devices, such as wavelength-selective cross connects, and intra-channel controlrndevices, such as general optical equalizers.
