We show how state-of-the-art wax deposition modelling can provide an accurate estimate of the location,rnshape and volume of wax deposits which is key information for the development of a pigging programrnand the design of the pigs. We show how pigs can be designed to controllably and progressively removerntargeted volumes of wax starting from 50% of pipeline diameter while maintaining drive through anotherrn130 kilometers of relatively clean pipeline. Finally, we demonstrate how instrument packages in pigs canrnbe useful in locating and quantifying pipeline restrictions and in providing important data for validatingrnflow assurance models.
