Start-up of a Giant

The start-up of the Pazflor field required a response to three simultaneous challenges:rn1. Start-up of a large complex facility, which involved the use of innovative 3D virtual reality training tools used to increase operator confidence and the availability of Total Group previous experience.rn2. Flow assurance for two different reservoirs and oil qualities. First, the Oligocene Field had light oil with high temperature, wax/corrosion issues, very long subsea production loops. Second, the Miocene Fields had unconsolidated sand, heavy viscous oil, emulsion and gas carry-over and Subsea Separation Units.rn3. Operating innovative Miocene subsea facilities, with gas/liquid separation on the sea bed.
