The Bleo Holm is an FPSO owned and operated by Bluewater,rnleased by Talisman for operation of the Ross & Parry Fieldsrnlocated in the North Sea. After discovery of the nearby BlakernField and evaluation of several development concepts arntieback of the Blake field to the Bleo Holm FPSOrnwas selected.rnIn order to be able to produce the Blake field throughrnthe Bleo Holm, extensive modifications to the Bleo Holmrnfacility were required that would only be possible tornimplement during a shutdown period. Without productionrnduring the shutdown period the owners of the Ross & ParryrnFields would be subject to a loss of oil revenue. Minimisationrnof the shutdown period was therefore absolutely essential andrnwas reflected in the execution schedule that became thernproject driver.rnThis paper describes the development of the projectrnduring all its phases (concept, engineering, construction andrncommissioning) and highlights how the construction schedule,rnbeing the main driver, influenced decisions taken during therncourse of the project.rnThe paper also discusses the flexibility of the FPSOrnconcept and the benefits the Blake Field Tie-in to the BleornHolm provided to the field owners and to Bluewater.
