The exploration and production (E&P) segment of thernpetroleum industry has progressively been led to act deeper.rnIn Brazil, where the deep water (400 to 1,000m WD) andrnultra-deep water (1,000 to 2,000m WD) have been thernsegments responsible for the major portion of the overallrncountry petroleum production (approx. 1.3 MMBPD), one canrnfind in Campos Basin the main arena for the pioneerrndeployment of new technologies. CSO has been working inrnthis environment as a strong partner of Petrobras, helpingrnthem to reach their main objectives, from engineering tornproduct manufacturing and supply, installation andrncommissioning.rnThis paper will describe:rnThe technical solutions incorporated in the design of flexiblernlines of up to 9.2" in 1,500m WD and 6” in 2,000m WD, wellrnin excess of any previous design.rnThe installation procedures developed and the up to daterninstallation experience in the field, the challenges encounteredrnand lessons learned.rnIt will also mention the strategies that are being adopted byrnPetrobras and CSO to overcome the main technological ultradeepwaterrnchallenges, to go beyond the 2,000m WD mark.
