Subsea equipment reliability is vital for cost-effective designrnand operation of deepwater subsea concepts. The OREDA?rnsoftware and database system allows for monitoring reliabilityrnperformance and for optimizing subsea system design, as wellrnas infrastructure planning through regularity and reliabilityrnfocus. Company reliability experiences and examples ofrnindustrial cooperation are given. The OREDA Joint IndustryrnProject (JIP) consists today of 10 major oil companies and actsrnas the Forum for managing and coordinating reliability datarncollection. The OREDA? subsea software covers subsearnequipment such as Xmas trees, control systems, template,rnmanifolds, subsea pumps, and includes critical componentsrnsuch as valves, connectors and sensors. Reliability knowhowrnis becoming ever more important to utilise in the deeepwaterrnbusiness arena and OREDA offers the “reliabilityrncommunication language” for the parties involved.
