摘要

Achieving optimum performance of a demineralizer requires understanding of the dynamic variables that impact resins and systems. This paper discusses several environmental, chemical, and mechanical variables with the objective of improving a demineralizer performance and reducing operating costs. Aspects that are reviewed include affects of influent water quality, factors affecting useful resin life, performance of cation and anion resins, and the impact of sulfuric and hydrochloric acids for regeneration of the cation. Additionally, performance of co-flow and counter-flow regenerated systems, which have received much attention in recent years is included.
