摘要

In this paper a model is proposed to capture the volume change dependency of soil-water characteristic curve based on energy considerations invoking the existence of generalized elastic and plastic potentials. The new model requires a few parameters and incorporates the effects of hydraulic hysteresis and volume change dependency of the scanning curve which is rarely addressed in the literature. Comparison between numerical predictions and experimental data obtained from the literature is presented, highlighting the ability of the proposed model in capturing the volume change dependency of the SWCC.
