摘要

Much recent work in the field of optical computing hasnconcentrated upon the parallel associative memoryeural networknalgorithms. The authors present results from an implementation of ansimple neural network. An optically addressed spatial light modulator,nthe Hughes liquid crystal light valve (LCLV), is used to performnthresholding and thin amplitude computer generated holograms perform thenweighted interconnections. Two 6-bit vectors and their complements werenstored as the memories and the outputs for all the possible inputs werenobserved. These outputs were then compared to those obtained from ancomputer simulation of the system
