Membrane composition screening and primary anti-cancer research of liposomal human defensins

摘要

To screen for proper lipid ingredients used in liposomal defensins, we examined defensin-induced leakage of fluorescent dyes encapsulated in large unilamellar vesicles (LUVs) of various phospholipid composition. Through MTT experiments of BxPC3 pancreatic cancer cells, liposomal method was proved to primarily avoid inactivation of defensins by serum and maintain anti-cancer activities of defensins.
