In a distributed system, it takes time for a software event to reachrnremote clients. In the same sense as used in physics, only whenrnthe event had reached the time horizon of a client, client becomesrnaware of it. Using this metaphor1, we have developed a simple yetrnpowerful model for software components to get back in sync afterrninterruptions.rnThe ideas described in this paper have been implemented on EnrnRoute Automation Modernization (ERAM) program, a FederalrnAviation Administration (FAA) effort aimed at replacing thernaging en route assets and planting a seed for the many futurernenhancements that the projected increase in air traffic requires. Inrnmany ways, this paper is a compendium to another paper at thisrnsame conference titled Publisher Framework (PFW), because it isrnwithin the auspices of PFW that these ideas have beenrnimplemented.
