An internally stable Algorithmic Internal Model Control (AIMC) strategy which uses linear or nonlinear model state feedback is proposed for unstable systems. The closed loop responses are those tht would be obtained from a two degree of freedom IMC control syste, if it were stable, Results of several simulations demonstrate the validity of the approach.
