This paper presents an application of Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) for therndevelopment of a Noise, Vibration, Harshness (NVH) package for a class 8 truck. A fullrnsleeper cab SEA model was developed to support the NVH package design process.rnAdditionally, a frontwall sub-system model was extracted from the full model and used tornextensively evaluate different modeling techniques and frontwall treatment alternatives.rnThe selected frontwall treatments and modeling techniques were subsequentlyrnincorporated into the full sleeper cab model. The full model was comprehensively validatedrnvia physical testing and then used to guide the NVH package design by evaluation of thernnoise performance of several package iterations. The treatment selection for each cabrnsubsystem (e.g. backwall), considering one at a time, was based on the highest performancernresulting from different noise control treatments.
