Dynamic Displays for Adults with Aphasia: What Works for Whom?

As society becomes more computer literate, more individuals with disabilities are becoming aware of and expecting assistance through technology. Being a clinic that specializes in AAC for adults with acquired conditions, many of our clients have aphasia and are looking for technology-based solutions to increase face to face communication. This presentation will discuss, using case examples and actual layouts, the benefits and limits of using different dynamic displays with individuals with different language impairments due to aphasia. Training strategies that help these clients learn to utilize the system to their full advantage will be included with their functional outcomes.
