摘要

A sol-gel reaction of alkoxysilanes is well used for synthesis of the organic polymer/silica nano-composites, since the reaction is carried out at room temperature with mild conditions. Silica synthesized by the sol-gel reaction under 200℃ contains a lot of lattice defects. Properties of silica synthesized by the sol-gel method under 200℃ are different from silica glass. In order to obtain a silica glass phase by the sol-gel method, calcination should be carried out over 500℃. Thus, it is impossible to obtain organic polymer/silica glass composite by the sol-gel reaction. Silica glass can be synthesized with perhydropolysilazane [PHPS] by calcination at low temperature (ca. 100℃) with specific condition. Silica synthesized with PHPS is amorphous solid without pores, its properties, such as density, refractive index, etc., are close to silica glass.
