摘要

This paper investigates numerically the crashworthiness performance of filament wound laminated corrugated tubes. A combined approach consists of finite element method and Hill's failure criterion. In The considered corrugated tubes were consisted of five similar circular cones connected together by circular tubes. Results are presented for different values of cone vertex angles. Load-displacement curves and stress profile from the numerical simulation are presented for considered geometries. The numerical simulation results show that the failure mechanism and the energy absorption capabilities are very sensitive to cone vertex angle. Based on the presented results important conclusions can be drawn concerning the corrugated tube behaviour and its sensitivity to different system parameter variations.
