This paper proposes new configurations of SMA wires for smart composite structures. The twisted wires exhibited better bonding strength to an epoxy matrix compared with the plain one. The actuation test also indicated that the debonding length of the twisted wire/epoxy cylinder was shorter than that of plain wire type sample.
