3D Surface Deployment of Wireless Sensor Network for Coal-fire Area

Wireless sensor network (WSN) provide an effective way to monitor fire in Xinjiang coal-fire area.Node deployment is the primary problem to construct WSN.The precondition of deployment is distance of adjacent nodes.The distance is determined by communication model.This paper presents a different model varied with terrain,and model adds influence of altitude for 3D environment.The deployment strategy has two stages.Firstly,we find the position of sink node for collecting all information in WSN.The formula is calculated for position,and the parameters are altitude,distance from regional center and vertices.Secondly,the monitoring region is projected in XOY plane.and regular hexagon packed the projection plan is the best method.The projection node of the sink node is the center of starting hexagon.The vertices and center of hexagons join the set of projection nodes.We find the corresponding points of projection nodes in set,the distance is adjusted by communication model.The mothod realize using the minimum number of nodes in WSN.Simulation shows that the deployment is feasible in surface deployment of3D terrain environment.
