SOLITON TRANSMISSION THROUGH A SINGLE-MODE FIBER

摘要

Soliton transmission through a silica based single-mode fiber having a cross sectional area of 50 μm~2, core refractive index of 1.46, nonlinear coefficient 1.22 x 10~(-12) m~2/V~2 and dispersion of 16 psecm/km is realized. The shape of the input pulse is hyperbolic secant and pulse width is 25 psec.
