摘要

Many environmental problems in the Middle East are essentially trans-boundary and thus a regional and cooperative approach is required to address them. Environmental education is a key element in this approach. The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies has developed a unique pedagogical approach that combines the study of the environment with cooperation and peace-building. The intense and long-term immersion of Israelis, Palestinians, Jordanians and international students and researchers in the Institute's academic and research programs provides a sound and secure framework on which to build strong and confident environmental leaders and sustainable environmental programs.
