STRIPE-LIKE INHOMOGENEITIES, CARRIERS, AND BCS-BEC CROSSOVER IN THE HIGH-T_C CUPRATES

It was shown that a treatment of the cuprates on the basis of both large-U and small-U orbitals and dynamical stripe-like inhomogeneities resolves puzzling normal-state spectroscopic and transport properties and provides a mechanism for high-T_c and the peudogap.
