摘要

The rapid field preparation of suspect samples is most important for on-site field analysis. Sample preparation is the limiting factor and becomes one of the most critical aspects of environmental monitoring. The analysis of Chemical Warfare (CW) compounds and their precursors in environmental samples ; re a labor intensive, time-consuming process requiring a fully equipped laboratory. Utilization of solid phase microextraction technology (SPME, Supelco Inc.) eliminates time consuming sample work-up procedures. We will discuss the advantages of utilizing SPME and in-situ derivatization techniques to eliminate time-consuming steps necessary to prepare a sample for on-site gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis. In addition, we will discuss three cases in this paper where SPME has facilitated the analysis of suspect CW samples.
