Eutrophic signals in the chemistry of the bottom layer of the northern adriatic sea

The Northern Adriatic Sea is the largest semi enclosed continental shelf area in the Mediterranean Sea. It receives approaximately one third of hte Mediterranean runoff and is one of the most productive regions in the Mediterranean Sea [1]. It plays also a vital role in the Mediterranean circulation by producting, during th winter, the deep water for the Eastern Mediterranean, the North Adriatic Bottom Water (NAdBW).
