摘要

Wideband acoustic propagation in shallow water has a unique arrival structure due to modal group speed dispersion. The long range sediment tomography technique based on modal dispersion requires identification of modal arrivals and their measurement. It is possible to unravel the modal dispersion characteristics using a proper- time-frequency (TF) analysis. Various time- frequency analysis techniques are presented and are applied to data from the Asian Seas International Acoustics Experiment (ASIAEX) - East China Sea (ECS) experiment.
