Re-condensation

摘要

When steam transfers its heat in a manufacturing process or heat exchanger, it may revert to a liquid phase called condensate. This paper presents a method to help certain manufacturing and petro-chemical companies to save energy costs by returning their condensate to the steam boilers. Since the implementation costs are based on the condensate piping sized to handle all of the flash steam, the estimates in this paper are conservative. The installed system cost is based on data obtained per foot of length of installed piping. Results of these calculations are presented in this paper.
