With the expansion into increasingly demanding production areas, the oil exploration andproduction industry is in a great demand for corrosion inhibitors that perform under extremelychallenging conditions. A research program has been initiated to develop inhibitors which work underthese highly aggressive conditions. In this paper, the results of corrosion testing, utilizing high shearevaluation tools, such as, jet impingement, flow loop and rotating cylinder electrodes are presented.From these studies, corrosion inhibitors have been developed which can provide exceptional protectionunder these extremely challenging conditions.
