Video Frame Rate Conversion For Mobile Devices

摘要

The current and continuing explosive growth of multi-media applications for mobile devices reveals the limitations of mobile networks and the devices themselves. In particular, the quality of mobile video is limited by the network bandwidth and the processing power and storage capacity of the devices. In this paper the temporal quality of mobile media is addressed by means of temporal frame rate up-conversion, while taking into account the mentioned limitations. The proposed frame rate converter enhances the quality of portrayed motion significantly, while required platform resources are kept minimal by exploiting typical properties of mobile displays.
