This paper has outlined important weaknesses in present drive and power conversion technologies with respect to first cost, physical size, harmonic distortion and cable and motor issues due to high levels of dv/dt. AC-Link™ addresses ALL these issues and is ready to take marine electrical drives into the 21st Century.
