摘要

Ab-initio emulsion polymerization can result in batch to batch differences in conversion time history and particle concentration. Inhibitor and oxygen are important factors for a lack of reproducibility. The results presented in this paper demonstrate that working in an inert atmosphere considerably improves reproducibility, even when the inhibitor is not completely removed. Absence of a headspace in steady state continuous operation allows complete control of the course of the reaction.
