Definitions of Managed Objects for IEEE 802.3 Medium Attachment Units (MAUs)

This memo defines a portion of the Management Information Base (MIB)for use with network management protocols in the Internet community.This memo obsoletes RFC 2668, ''Definitions of Managed Objects forIEEE 802.3 Medium Attachment Units (MAUs)''. This memo extends thatspecification by including management information useful for themanagement of 10 gigabit per second (Gb/s) MAUs. Ethernet technology, as defined by the 802.3 Working Group of theIEEE, continues to evolve, with scalable increases in speed, newtypes of cabling and interfaces, and new features. This evolutionmay require changes in the managed objects in order to reflect thisnew functionality. This document, as with other documents issued bythis working group, reflects a certain stage in the evolution ofEthernet technology. In the future, this document might be revised,or new documents might be issued by the Ethernet Interfaces and HubMIB Working Group, in order to reflect the evolution of Ethernettechnology.Distribution of this memo is unlimited.
