RECENT DESIGNING IN THE SLOW SPEED DIESEL ENGINES

摘要

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. has been developing UE diesel engines with our own technology since 1955. We are now proceeding the research and development of the countermeasures against environmental problem positively in addition to high performance and high reliability which are the traditional main features of UE engines. We are convinced that UE engine has much flexibility for environmental problem based on the test result of water injection into combustion chamber. In this paper, we would like to explain the test result of water injection and the designing trends in slow speed diesel engines matched with the environment problem in 21st century.
