In this paper, disconnected and connected piled-raft foundations consisting of single pile and 3x3 pile group subjected to both vertical and lateral loads have been analyzed by PLAXIS 3D. The sub-soil profile and pile dimensions are taken from the reported experimental results obtained by another researcher. The validation of the numerical model has been done with the reported experimental results. It has been observed that the vertical settlements of raft and pile head are about 20.33% to 35.20% more than the lateral settlements for both disconnected and connected piled-raft foundations. The disconnected piled-raft foundations of single pile and 3X3 pile group can take lateral loads up to 0.64% and 5.37% of the vertical load respectively. Similarly, the connected piled-raft foundations of single pile and 3*3 pile group can take lateral loads up to 1.14% and 9.71% of the vertical load respectively.
