Performance Analysis of Various Voltage Stability Indices in Transmission and Distribution Systems

This paper compares different kinds of stability indices in order to identify the voltage stability of a particular power system in transmission and distribution systems. A number of line and bus voltage stability indices are examined in this paper to find their effectiveness of determining the weakest lines/buses in the system. Simulation studies have been carried out in IEEE-3991997 system & IEEE 9 Bus Test System taken as a test case study for distribution system and transmission system respectively. Results show that among other indices performance of the index Lmn, and FVSI proves itself to be a suitable index for both transmission and distribution system.
