Chile is exposed to high magnitude earthquakes. The telecommunication architecture of a Healthcare Goverment Entity is highly dependent on wired IP networks, which are vulnerable to failures. A direct wireless link between hospitals is desirable to provide reliable redundancy. In this work, we propose the use of LoRaWAN technology to monitor critical emergency and standby resources, such as water tanks and fuel generators, to guarantee their availability in a disaster scenario. The designed elements include the framework, packet format, and a coverage analysis. The final product proves that the proposed system is an energy efficient, reliable, and practical alternative to significantly increase the data delivery redundancy, hence increasing the awareness of the resource depletion or absence in an emergency situation.
