We applied two hybrid modulation algorithms in underwater VLC system (UVLC) to achieve higher achievable data rate (ADR). For the purpose of achieving the biggest system performance, we utilized two new bit-loading algorithms called the block hybrid modulation (BHM) algorithm and data interleaved hybrid modulation (DIHM) to modulate signal, and each subcarrier is modulated by 2 QAM orders. We can draw the conclusion from the experimental results that DIHM and BHM all outperform traditional bit-loading(TBL), and DIHM achieved the maximum ADR of 3.3215Gb/s in the single blue LED based UVLC system.
