The Classification of the Movie Genre based on Synopsis of the Indonesian Film

The text classification system aims to classify a document content into the correct label. Synopsis text data in Indonesian films can be used as a feature to determine the appropriate genre of film by utilizing machine learning algorithms. This preliminary study aims to explore some feature extraction methods and machine learning model to classify the movie genre. Our model shows that the best results are the SVM+TF-IDF Classifier using the unigram with the f1 score of 45%.
