1. A method was developed in characterizing surface energy of composite electrodes and electrolyte imbibition in the electrodes. 2. NMC532 cathodes show higher surface energy which leads to better surface wetting with electrolyte. 3. However, the electrolyte imbibition is much faster in graphite anodes.
