As early as the preliminary design phase the C Series aircraft was planned to incorporate Steep Approach functionality that enabled the aircraft to land from a glide path greater than 4.5 degrees. New capabilities were introduced in the areas of pilot alerting and guidance to improve awareness, mitigate variations in approach path and greatly increase landing consistency.
